The Red Level Tigers picked up their first win of the season Friday night as they topped Florala 49-15 Friday night in Florala.
“We played a good game tonight,” Red Level head coach James Wise said. “There were a few mistakes, but for the most part I couldn’t be prouder of the way we performed.”
The game stayed close in the first half, but Red Level’s John Lee took over in the second half to push the Tigers through.
“When you got a guy like No. 10 (Lee), and you get him in open space there is much else you need to do,” Wise said. “John ran the ball extremely hard tonight.”
Lee finished with more than 300 yards rushing and four touchdowns in the Tigers’ victory.
“Overall, it was a great night for us,” Wise said. “Our coaching staff did an outstanding job and so did our players. There was good crowd for both sides and it was just a good clean Friday night high school football game.”
Cale Mancill had a 60-yard punt return for a touchdown, and Colten Dorman went 3-for-3 on extra points attempts.
Red Level will take on Kinston next Friday at home. Florala hits the road to take on McKenzie.
