The Opp City Council held a special called meeting Wednesday to give its OK on an airport grant application.
Mayor John Bartholomew told the council they had to OK it because the city was a part of the airport.
The cities of Opp and Andalusia and the County Commission act as sponsors for the grant agreement.
The grant is from the Federal Aviation Administration for nearly $140,000.
The grant requires a 10 percent match, which Bartholomew told the council the airport would pick-up.
South Alabama Regional Airport Co-Director Jed Blackwell said that the grant is funding that the airport gets each year and will go to finish the fencing project at the airport.
