The Covington County 12U All-Stars gave it a good shot, but fell to the East Brewton All-Stars 18-1 Friday in the opening round of the of the Babe Ruth softball sub-state tournament at the Dwight Mikel Sports Complex.

East Brewton scored three runs in the opening inning, and then blew the game wide open in the bottom of the second for an 18-0 advantage.

Covington County added one run in the top of the third, but it wasn’t enough to overcome East Brewton. Covington County will play in the loser’s bracket today at 10 a.m.
