BREWTON- The Opp 10U All-Stars hammered their way to a district championship at the Cal Ripken 10U district All-Star tournament in Brewton over the weekend with four straight wins.

In the 10U All-Star district championship game in Brewton, Opp came away with a 9-2 victory over Brewton to take the crown.
Brewton jumped out front in top of the second inning when a run scored off a bases-loaded single.
Opp loaded up the bases with a pair of singles and walk and then Andrew Danford continued his strong day with double to center to put Opp on top 3-1.
Opp blew the game wide open in the bottom of the fourth inning and made it 6-1.
Danford singled and then moved around third on double from Jake Coon.
Nelson Hall drove in DaDa Lane with single to center. Xander Scoggins then drove in Coon with sacrifice. Conner Manchin put Opp on top 6-1 with a single to left that scored Hall.
Brewton came back with one run in the top of the fifth inning, but Opp countered that with a three-run sixth to give them a 9-2 victory.
Coon drove in two runs on a fielder’s choice and a triple from Hall scored Danford for the final run of the game.
Danford finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBIs and one runs scored.
Coon and Hall had two hits, two RBIs and one run each in the victory.
OPP 14,
EVERGREEN 3
Opp got the tournament off to a strong start with a 14-3 victory over Evergreen behind a sensational pitching performance from Danford.
Danford gave up a leadoff single to start the game, but quickly settled in and struck out six of the next seven batters he faced.
The Opp All-Stars took the lead in the bottom of the first with when Coon drove in Colby Ballard with a double to right.
A single from Hall followed that scored Danford to put Opp on top 2-0. An error on the play allowed Coon to score also.
Opp made it a 4-0 game when Cade Jones drove in Hall with a single to left.
Will Boyd picked an infield single to start the bottom of the second and immediately stole second base. After an error moved Boyd to third, Danford drove him in with a fielder’s choice to shortstop.
Evergreen got on the board in the top of the third with a pair of funs, but Opp still held a 5-2 advantage.
Opp opened up the floodgates in the bottom of the third inning and took a 12-2 lead.
Hall singled to start the inning and a double from Scoggins drove Hall in.
Scroggins then scored off an error and the bases loaded walk to Boyd scored Griffen Pierce.
Hall then got his second hit of the inning with a RBI single up the middle.
Evergreen pushed across a run in the top of the fourth keep the game going.
Opp didn’t let it continue much longer as singles from Pierce and Lane lifted them to a 14-3 victory.
Danford led the way on the mound for Opp going two innings and striking out six.
Hall finished the games 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.
