Marybeth Alexander picks up speed as she heads around the final pole during the opening day of the Alabama Junior High School Rodeo Association’s State Finals Rodeo. Cowboys and cowgirls from all over the state are here for the finals.  Alexander is one of several local cowgirls competing in the rodeo. Today’s events start at 10 a.m., with the K-5 Jr. Bull Riding.
