Opp names assistant principals

The Opp City Board of Education on Tuesday named three assistant principals for the 2016-17 school year.
Dr. Amanda Holmes Inabinett was named assistant principal at Opp High School; Alicia Kroher was named assistant principal at Opp Middle School; and Christy Harrell was named assistant principal and instructional coach at Opp Elementary.
Inabinett is a native of Andalusia and has lived in Opelika for the past 12 years, where she has served as assistant principal of Opelika High School. Most recently, she oversaw the construction of Opelika High’s $40 million renovation.
She earned a bachelor’s in English language arts secondary education from Auburn, and later earned a master’s degree in educational leadership, an education specialist degree and a doctorate, all from Auburn.
She and her husband, Chris, have two daughters, Savannah Rylynne, 9, and Audrey Lou Anna, 7 months.
Kroher has taught in the Opp school system since 2014, both as a fourth grade teacher and as an OMS physical science teacher. She previously taught in Winter Park, Fla., Apopka, Fla., and Orlando. She taught at South Highlands Elementary in Opp from 1993-2002.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Alabama; a master’s degree from Troy University; and a specialist in educational leadership from National-Louis University in Tampa, Fla.
Harrell has taught at Opp Elementary School for 12 years and has been the instructional coach for the past four years.
She is an OHS graduate who earned a master’s degree in early childhood education and instructional leadership and administration from Troy University.
She and her husband, Gary Harrell, have three children. Colt and Caiden will be entering their junior year at Troy University and Cash is in second grade.
