Several local teams were in action at the Andalusia Lady Bulldogs’ Bringing the Heat softball tournament Friday night in Andalusia.
ANDALUSIA 10,
RED LEVEL 3
The Lady Bulldogs topped Red Level 10-3 in their first game of the day.
Merikal McCaskill led the way for the Lady Bulldogs going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Sydney Ray got the win and struck out four batters.
ANDALUSIA 5,
ALABAMA CHRISTIAN 5
The Lady Bulldogs battled back in the final inning to force a 5-5 tie with Alabama Christian Academy.
McCaskill went 3-for-3 at the plate and belted a home run in the final inning to tie the game.
T.R. MILLER 13,
RED LEVEL 2
T.R. Miller jumped out front early and held on for a 13-2 victory over Red Level.
Beth Foshee and Haley White each scored one run for the Lady Tigers.
Ashlyn Joyner drove in one run for the Lady Tigers.
STRAUGHN 4,
OPP 2
The Straughn Lady Tigers reeled off a 4-2 victory over the Opp Lady Bobcats Friday night in the opening round of the Andalusia softball tournament.
Straughn jumped out front 2-0, but the Lady Bobcats battled their way back into the game.
Laura Lee Short finished the game 2-for-3 with two singles and a RBI for the Lady Bobcats.
