RLHS’s JAG program places at state convention

Red Level High School’s JAG program had an outstanding performance at the JAG State Career Development Conference last week.
Caleb Gomillion won third place in employment interview.
Donnamy Steele won second place in public speaking. She was asked to give her speech to the assembly.
Additionally, at the South District Competition in Prattville on Feb. 29, Steele won first place in public speaking.
Jonathan Williamson won first place in decision making.
The creative problem solving team, which consisted of Monica Andrews, Levi Horn, Will Shay and Collin Wingard, won first place.
Gomillion won first place in employment interview.
Ashley Baker won second place in math skills and Deonna Harris won second place in the communication triathlon.
Other competitors from Red Level included Ontaryo Nearor, employability skills and the JAG Bowl team which consisted of Kendra Hall, Katie Williamson, Hannah Colvin and Courtney Shakespeare.
Straughn’s JAG team placed in students for service, math skills, employment interview and communication triathlon at the district level.
Three of those events do not move on to state, JAG teacher Whitney Geohagan said.
