The Lady Eagles remained steady in the fourth period and blew past the Lady Bulldogs for a 50-25 win.
Baldwin had 5 more points in the final period.
Taylor Catoe and Bulger each added 2 points for the Lady Eagles in the fourth.
Baldwin led the way for the Lady Eagles with 23 points and 12 rebounds.
Godwin completed her double-double with 11 points and 10 boards for the Lady Eagles.
“I’m just glad to get this one over,” Lady Eagles’ head coach Jerry Davis said. “That first playoff games is always a tough one. I didn’t feel like we played with too many jitters, though. Most teams are going to try to shut down River (Baldwin), and when that happened tonight, Cassidy (Godwin) stepped up and made plays. I thought Abby Walker did a great job at point tonight. The pressure she put on caused a lot of problems for the other team. She plays aggressive and really gets after it.”
The Lady Eagles will be back in action Thursday night at 5:30 against Kinston for the Class 1A, Area 2 championship.
