Eagles, Tigers split on Senior night in Red Level

The Pleasant Home Eagles were going for their eighth consecutive victory, but it was denied when they were topped 44-36 by the Red Level Tigers Tuesday night in Red Level.
Jeffery Perdue got the Tigers off to a strong start with 8 points in the opening period.
Hunter Carpenter and Javarius Grooms tacked on 2 points each to give Red Level a 12-8 lead at the end of the first period.
Robert Scott had 6 points in the first period and Chase Gunter added 2 points for the Eagles.
Both teams went into the second period scrapping and 4 points each from Dameyune Scott and Grooms gave Red Level a 24-17 lead at halftime. Carpenter added 3 more points for the Tigers in the second period.
Nic Woods dropped in 7 points for the Eagles and Robert Scott added 2 points.
The Tigers and Eagles continued to battle it out in the third period, but the Tigers still held a 7-point advantage heading into the final period.
Devon Dexter had 4 points for the Tigers in the third period. Grooms and Ontaryo Nearer each had 2 points.
Garrett Barton had 4 third period points for the Eagles and Woods had 2 points.
In the fourth period, the Tigers continued to find the basket and came away with a 44-36 win on senior night.
Perdue had 5 points in the fourth period for the Tigers. Grooms, Dexter and Carpenter each added 2 points.
Scott had 8 points in the final period for the Eagles and Gunter tacked on 2 points.
Scott led the way for the Eagles with 16 points and Woods finished with 8 points.
Perdue led the Tigers with 13 points in the win and Grooms finished the night with 10 points.
In B-team action, the Eagles rolled to a 41-23 victory over Red Level.
Mason Kelley led the Eagles with 19 points.
Jacob Catrett finished with 7 points to lead the Tigers.
With another huge night from freshman River Baldwin, the Pleasant Home Lady Eagles picked up their 16th straight victory with a 67-16 victory over the Red Level Lady Tigers on Tuesday night in Red Level.
Baldwin came blistering out of the gate with 16 points in the first period to give the Lady Eagles a 21-2 lead after one.
Johnnie Forehand and Abbey Walker each added 2 points for the Lady Eagles in the opening period.
Natalie Feagin had 2 points for the Lady Tigers.
In the second period, Baldwin was back to work again, picking up 18 points to help give the Lady Eagles a 49-6 lead at halftime.
Cassidy Godwin had 8 points for the Lady Eagles in the second period.
Hannah Colvin and Alexis Perdue knocked in 2 points each for the Lady Tigers.
Baldwin’s strong night continued in the third period with 10 more points and Godwin dropped in 4 points to put the Lady Eagles on top 63-13 heading into the final period of play.
Baldwin’s came to and end during the third period, but in just three periods of play Baldwin accounted for 44 points for the Lady Eagles.
Feagin tacked on 5 points in the third period for the Lady Tigers and Aimee Catrett added 2 points.
Abigail McDuffie led the scoring in the fourth period for the Lady Eagles with 4 points to give Pleasant Home a 67-16 victory.
Deanna Harris had two points in the final period for the Lady Tigers.
Baldwin was the scoring leader with 44 points and Godwin tacked on 12 points for the Lady Eagles.
Feagin led the way for the Lady Tigers with 7 points.
