OCS OKs purchase of 4 new buses

Opp City Schools will soon have four new buses for its fleet.
The school board already approved the purchase of a bus to replace one that was totaled in an October bus wreck.
The school will receive the first bus in the coming weeks and will receive the other three within 120 days.
There will be three 72-passenger buses and a 48-passenger special needs bus with mechanical lift.
The cost for the for the buses is more than $80,000 each.
Chief Financial Officer Linda Banks said the fleet renewal money will be around $57,000 by September, which will be more than enough to make the payment this year/
With the replacement of these buses, the oldest buses in the fleet will be 2005 models.
Smithart said they will not surplus the special needs bus, so they can have a back-up.
