Grand jury indicts 1 on drug charges

A Covington County grand jury indicted a local man on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to court documents, Timothy Sean Murphy, 53, allegedly knowingly and unlawfully possessed drug paraphernalia, to wit: “Jar and or smoking device, used intended or designed for use in planting, propagating, cultivating, growing, harvesting, manufacturing, compounding, converting, producing, processing, preparing, testing, analyzing, packaging, repackaging, storing, containing, concealing, injecting, ingesting, inhaling or otherwise introducing into the human body a controlled substance, a further or more detailed description being unknown to the grand jury.”

The indictments stem from a May 4, 2014, incident, court records show.

“The grand jury of Covington County charges that before the finding of this indictment Timothy Sean Murphy, whose name is unknown to the grand jury other than as stated, while at or near Covington County, Ala., did on or about to wit: “May 4, 2014, knowingly and unlawfully possess marijuana for personal use.”

He was arrested and booked into the Covington County Jail on a $13,000 bond.
