Time is running out to get those holiday packages in the mail.

Andalusia Postmaster Mike Kolmetz said that for Christmas delivery, the First-Class Mail deadline is Dec. 19; Priority Mail deadline is Dec. 21 and Express Mail deadline is next Tuesday.

Kolmetz said that the post office has been busy this holiday season with many people utilizing the services.

The busiest delivery say for holiday letters, cards and packages is Mon., Dec. 21, he said.

According to the Postal Service, they will deliver 15.5 billion cards, letters and packages from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve.

On average, the Postal Service processes 506 million pieces of mail every day. That total increases to 536 million pieces each day during the holidays.
