Margo Russell’s art students built these mission churches from clay.
The project began when the students did drawings of mission churches. From the drawings, they then determined how to build walls, ceilings and roofs.
Russell said she has always loved mission churches and thought it would be an interesting project for students.
Those students completing the project included Eva Kanaley, daughter of Addy Gantt and Tommy Kanaley; Cassidy Tillman, daughter of Tavia and Gary Tillman; Holly Taylor, daughter of Ginger and Tony Taylor; Kayley Williams, daughter of Brooke King and Chad Williams; Ava Bailey, daughter of Karen and Mark Bailey; and Brenna Wells, daughter of Kendra and Ashton Wells.
The churches have been on display this week at The Star-News.
