Andalusia native named Ms. LBWCC

LBW Community College’s 2016 Ms. LBWCC is Lindsey Magnolia (Maggie) Holmes of Andalusia.
Holmes is a sophomore theater major at LBWCC and a 2014 graduate of Straughn High School. She is the daughter of Will Holmes and Sandy and Shannon Wiggins. In her community, she volunteers with 4-H, Civitan rodeo, and children’s theater.
She had a vocal performance of “The Latté Boy” by Kristin Chenoweth during the talent competition. After completing her degree at LBWCC, she plans to relocate to Atlanta, Ga., to continue her studies and pursue an acting career.
Natilee Mathews of Andalusia was named as first runner-up and talent winner. She is a sophomore at LBWCC and a member of the Student Government Association. She is the daughter of Lori Grimes and Tommy Mathews and is a 2014 graduate of Andalusia High School.
Mathews performed a self-choreographed contemporary dance to “Titanium” by Madilyn Bailey in the talent portion of the competition.
Following completion of a degree at LBWCC, Mathews plans to transfer to Auburn University Montgomery to pursue a degree in marketing.
Named as second runner-up was Ansley Nicole Shipp of Red Level, a sophomore at LBWCC and a 2013 graduate of Red Level High School. She is the daughter of John and Donna Shipp, and volunteers with Meredith’s Miracles, the Wounded Warrior Project, Habitat for Humanity, and Relay for Life. She also enjoys volunteering at many different pageant organizations and founded “Band-Aids for Boo-Boos.”
Shipp’s performance in the talent competition was a clarinet solo to “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark” by Fall Out Boy. Her plans following the completion of a degree at LBWCC include transferring to the University of North Carolina to complete a degree in business administration and public relations, and completing an internship at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Chelsea Rae Huggins of McKenzie, daughter of Joe and Amy Huggins and a 2010 graduate of McKenzie High School, was named as Ms. Congeniality and overall interview winner.
She is a freshman at LBWCC, a member of the Saints Angels, Non-Traditional Student Association, and Student Support Services. Her community activities include public speaking and artwork donations to local areas.
In the talent competition, Huggins gave a verbal presentation of “Painting by Mouth” with several pieces of her artwork on display.
After completing a degree at LBWCC, she plans to transfer to Auburn University Montgomery to study psychology.
