Karate kids kick competition

Eight first-place finishes helped lead Andalusia Isshinryu Karate to another strong showing, this time at the WYKKO Southeast Regional Karate Open tournament in Dothan.

Allen Butler led the way for Andalusia Isshinryu Karate with three first place finishes in black belt weapons, black belt kata and black belt fighting.

Kila Owens also had a solid day as she picked up first place finishes in both brown belt fighting and brown belt kata.

Taj Patel finished in first place in black belt kata, second place in black belt weapons and third place in black belt fighting.

Landon Caldwell picked up a first place finish in brown belt fighting, second place in brown belt kata and second place in brown belt weapons.

Nathanael Walker was the top finisher in brown belt men’s weapons and second place in brown belt men’s fighting.

Konnor Owens picked up two second place finishes in green belt weapons and green belt kata. Owens also finished third in green belt fighting.

Ethan Henderson finished second in yellow belt weapons and third in yellow belt fighting.

Rexanne Butler finished in third place in black belt weapons and Sarah Williams finished in third place in green belt weapons.
