The Straughn Lady Tigers strolled past Oak Grove in the opening round of the AHSAA Class 4A South Super Regionals Friday in Montgomery.

The Lady Tigers scorched Oak Grove 25-10 in the first set, and laid the hammer down in 25-7 victory in the second set.

Straughn completed the sweep with a 25-12 victory in the third set.

Hannah Lawless led the way for the Lady Tigers with eight kills and eight aces.

Ashley Hughes had 10 kills. Courtney Rogers had six digs and seven aces, and Sarah Langford had 20 assists for the Lady Tigers.

“We played aggressive and kept the pressure on them,” Lady Tigers’ coach Daniel Rodgers said. “I am super proud of this team.”

The Lady Tigers will play Trinity at noon today in the second round of the South Super Regionals.
