Mizell Memorial Hospital and the Opp Chamber of Commerce plan a breast cancer awareness day on Fri., Oct. 23, at 10 a.m.

Participants will walk around the hospital four times, Kristen Averett said.

The first leg will be to support those fighting breast cancer, the second leg will be to admire the survivors, the third leg will be to honor the taken, and the last leg around the hospital will be for hope, she said.

“The walk will end with the releasing of pink balloons.”

Following the walk, there will be pink refreshments in the front lobby with breast cancer information.

The hospital also is discounting mammograms by 20 percent during the month of October.
