Frances Colquett “Doolie” Hogg

Mrs. Frances Colquett “Doolie” Hogg, 88, of Dozier, passed away Tues., Sept. 1, 2015, in the Andalusia Manor.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Fri., Sept. 4, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Eugene Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in Good Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Foreman Funeral Home.

She is survived by her daughters, Jenny (Mickey) Pitts of Andalusia and Fran (Carol) Hogg of Birmingham; her son, Jim (Darlene) Hogg of Dozier, six grandchildren, Amy (John) Dugger, Ashley (Dale) Burnett, James (Mallory) Hogg, Will Rosenstiel, Julia Rosenstiel, and Frances Rosenstiel; and two great-grandchildren, Ingram Dugger and Lillie Ann Burnett.

She is preceded in death by her husband, W. J. Hogg, her sister, Edna Earle Jackson; and two brothers, Carroll Colquett and Carlton Colquett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Hope Cemetery Fund, c/o First National Bank of Dozier, P.O. Box 68, Dozier, AL 36028.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.

Mary “Dot” Burkett Adams

Mrs. Mary “Dot” Burkett Adams, 84, of Andalusia passed away Tues., Sept. 1, 2015, at Andalusia Manor.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today, Thurs., Sept. 3, 2015, in the chapel of Keahey Funeral Home of Lockhart. The Rev. Tim Morgan will officiate. Interment will follow in the Smyrna Baptist Church cemetery.

Survivors include her son, Wade (Bea) Adams of Andalusia; grandchildren, Derek (Nicole) Adams of Andalusia, Melysa Bedsole of Andalusia, Stacy (Diana) McCart, and Amy (Terrell) Smith of Ariton; great-grandchildren, Hailey Adams, Cameron Adams, Cheyenne Adams, Lexy McCart, Austin McCart, Tra Bedsole, Mahayla Fry and Brooke Russell; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Wayland Adams; her parents, Lambert Bud and Faye Burkett; her brother, James Burkett; and her sister, Phylis Becton.

 

Juanita Martin Fain

Mrs. Juanita Martin Fain, age 87, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., Aug. 30, 2015, at Andalusia Regional Hospital. She was born in Andalusia, March 17, 1928.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Fri., Sept. 4, 2015, at the Keahey Funeral Home, 206 Stanley Ave., Andalusia. The Rev. Gary Miller will officiate. Interment will follow at the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 tonight, Thurs., Sept. 3, 2015, at Keahey Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The American Foundation for the Blind or a charitable organization of your choice.

Mrs. Fain was preceeded in death by her parents, Frank Travis Martin and Nellie Beatrice Maddox Martin, and her brother, the Rev. Ben Travis Martin.

She is survived by her husband, Hebert Augustas Fain of Andalusia; son, Jerry (Kathy) Campbell of Homosassa, Fla.; daughters, Sharon McCardell of Andalusia, and Cindy (Marty) Vreeland of Bloomfield, N.J.; grandchildren, Wendy Deans, Rachael Helton, Dawn Abbott, Shawn McCardell, and David Vreeland; great-grandchildren, Chealsea Hartmann, Alex Deans, Aiden Helton, Addison Helton, Ava Hall, and Anastasia Abbott; great-great grandchildren, Avigail Hartmann, Tristen Hartmann, Adrianna Hartmann and Robert Wigglesworth; a brother, Bill Martin of Andalusia; and her sisters, Irma Nell Riley and Margaret (Charlie) Smithwick, all of Andalusia.

 

George J. Brooks

Mr. George J. Brooks, age 89, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., Aug. 31, 2015, at his residence.

A visitation for Mr. Brooks will be held tonight, Thurs., Sept. 3, 2015, from 6 until 8 at Foreman Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Phoebe Brooks of Andalusia; daughter, Cheryl Finley of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; grandsons, Mike (Kandise) Finley of Andalusia and Robert Finley of Los Angeles, Calif.; granddaughter, Michelle (Mark) Ray of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; five great-grandchildren, Kristen Finley of Andalusia, Camber Finley of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Courtney Finley of Auburn, Rilee Kennedy of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Jase Kennedy of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; and one great-great grandchild. Special caregivers are Tammy Harrison, Stephanie Kelley, and Jameka Ward.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations be made to the Comfort Care Hospice in memory of George Brooks.
