More money will now be pumped into Mizell Memorial Hospital and the Mizell Wellness Center, thanks to money raised at last week’s annual gala.

The event, which was held at Opp’s First Baptist Church, drew a large crowd.

MMH Marketing Director Kristen Averitt said $32,100 was raised during the event.

“This is more than we have raised since 2010 and is our second best total,” she said. “The gala is our biggest fundraiser of the year. It is very much needed to support endeavors at the hospital.”
