Covington County residents who shop at home can take advantage of the annual sales tax holiday this weekend.

The state of Alabama, most local municipalities and the county commission has waived sales tax on back-to-school items for this weekend.

The holiday began at 12:01 a.m. on Friday and ends at midnight on Sunday.

Clothing is exempt as long as it is $100 or less per article of clothing.

School supplies $50 and less per item are exempt.
