Opp Police officials released the names of those involved in the wreck that claimed the life of an Elba man on Saturday.

Opp Assistant Chief Kevin Chance said the deceased, Lamar McGowan, 83, of Elba, was driving a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville when he made a left turn in front of a Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo on Hwy. 299.

Chance said Victoria Lee Vasquez, 23, of Titus, Ala., was driving the Jeep.

Chance said the wreck is still under investigation, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Traffic Homicide Unit (THI) assisted the OPD with the investigation.
