Strong start to summer for Lady Tigers

The Straughn Lady Tigers basketball team went 3-0 Friday during fun scrimmages in Troy.
In the first game, the Lady Tigers defeated Montgomery Catholic 31-21.
Game two the Lady Tigers went up against Carroll-Ozark. The Lady Tigers moved the ball well the entire game, which opened up several easy looks.
At the half, the Lady Tigers were up 13-12.
Dee Gantt and company remained strong in the second half, attacking the rim and drawing foul shots.
Harley Adcock hit the game-winning lay up with 33 seconds left on the clock, to put the Lady Tigers up 21-20.
The Lady Tigers completed the three-game sweep with a 21-17 victory over Alabama Christian.
“We are starting to learn,” Lady Tigers coach Scott Kinsaul said. “We are playing well, and starting to understand what we need to do, that is what summer is for. I’m proud of them so far. The Carroll coach came up to me after the game and said ‘You sure have a hustling bunch.’ That is something we pride ourselves on.”
