FRANK L. MCGUIRE
Frank L. McGuire, Jr., a resident of Florala, formerly of Birmingham and a native of Mobile, died on June 5, 2015, at the age of 95.
Mr. McGuire was employed with Liberty National Life Insurance Company for 35 years, where he served as treasurer and later, as senior vice president and a member of the board of directors.
Mr. McGuire was a World War II veteran, having served honorably as an officer in the United States Air Force.
He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Birmingham, where he served on the vestry.
Prior to that, he was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Mobile, where he served as treasurer, as a member of the vestry and as the bishop’s man.
Mr. McGuire was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary Lyle Davidson McGuire; his daughter, Melanie McGuire; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. McGuire, Sr.; and his sisters, Dot Clothier and Angela McGuire.
He is survived by his sons, Judge Frank “Trippy” McGuire, III (Margaret); Dr. Brian L. McGuire (Jean); grandchildren, Natalie Davis, Jan Miles, Adam and Andrew McGuire; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held today, Tues., June 9, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to either All Saints Episcopal Church, 110 West Hawthorne Road, Birmingham, AL 35209 or Trinity Episcopal Church, 1900 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL 36606.

BENNY BOZEMAN BARROW
Mr. Benny Bozeman Barrow, 85, of Andalusia, passed away on Thurs., June 4, 2015, at Andalusia Manor. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sun., June 7, 2015, from First Baptist Church with Brother Fred Karthaus officiating. Brother John Foster also officiated. Interment followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
Special music was by Dwight and Sonia Crigger.
He was born on March 24, 1930, to Robert W. and Louise Bozeman Barrow. Mr. Barrow was retired from State Farm Insurance and was also the owner of Recycling Resources. Mr. Benny was a long time member of the First Baptist Church. He served as deacon, taught the boys Sunday school class, worked 35 years in the preschool and was chosen as their Man of the Year. He was also very active within the community. He was a scout leader as well as an Eagle Scout himself. He served as the mayor of Andalusia for two terms, and was a member of the Rotary Club.
Barrow was a graduate Auburn University and of the Army R.O.T.C. program there.
Benny served 37 total years in the military, 31 of those years being served in the National Guard. In 1951 with the Army, he was mobilized in the Korean Conflict for two years. For four years, he also served in the reserves.
He was a great son, grandson, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was an outstanding person. He is survived by his wife, Esther Jacobs Barrow of Andalusia; daughter, Brenda Morris of Birmingham; sons and daughter-in-law, Ben Bozeman (Jane) Barrow of Albany, Ga., David Jacobs Barrow and Ann Alred Barrow of Guntersville; grandchildren, Andrew Morris, Jake (Ashley) Barrow, Haley Barrow (Stephen) Scouten, Leigh Barrow (Austin) Ducworth, Meredith Morris (Pete) Dunn and John Barrow; great grandchildren, Bennett and Ann Margaret Barrow and Harrison and Hudson Scouten; brother and sister-in-law, Robert W. “Bob” (Diane) Barrow, Jr. of Birmingham; and sister, Carolyn Singleton of Montgomery.
