Straughn seniors sign with LBW

Straughn seniors Paige Taylor and Kaitlynn Kinsaul will continue their softball careers after signing with the LBW Lady Saints on Thursday.
Kinsaul is the daughter of Brett and Sharon Kinsaul. Taylor is the daughter of Trent and Patty Taylor
The speedster Kinsaul played catcher for the Lady Tigers, and finished with a career batting average of .355 and stole 36 bases. Kinsaul also drove in 35 runs and scored 82 times during her high school career.
“I’m looking forward to playing with some new people from all over,” Kinsaul said. “I’m also excited to continue my career close to home, and to be able to continue to play with Paige (Taylor). Getting a chance to play for Coach Tucker at is also something I’m looking forward to.”
Taylor played first base for the Lady Tigers during her career, and was one of the most consistent fielders during her time at Straughn. In 120 fielding opportunities, Taylor committed just eight errors in her career. Taylor was also a strong hitter for the Lady Tigers finishing with a career batting average of .382, and driving in 55 runs. Taylor also scored 61 runs. Taylor had 18 doubles and two home runs in her high school career.
“Getting to play with my high school teammate (Katelyn Kinsaul), and just continuing my softball career and playing for Coach Tucker,” Taylor said of what she is most excited about playing at LBW.
Both Kinsaul and Taylor each said their fondest memories playing for Straughn were when they played in the state tournament during their sophomore seasons.
“Going to state my sophomore year with my dad as the coach, and playing with great teammates,” Taylor said of her favorite memories playing at Straughn.
