Ten days after the Jacksons returned from their father/son trip of a lifetime, Nepal was struck with a devastating earthquake, which registered 7.8 on the Richter scale. As of Wednesday afternoon, the official death toll was at 5,200, with some experts predicting the actual death toll could be more than 50,000.
World Vision Australia, with whom the Jacksons traveled in Nepal, is collecting donations at the following link: https://emergencies.worldvision.com.au/#/donate/nepal-earthquake.
The Nepal Red Cross Society is collecting funds for disaster relief at its web site, www.nrcs.org/donate-nrcs; and The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is prepping resources from its hubs in New Delhi, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.
