Area softball tournaments for Andalusia, Straughn and Opp will begin today with Opp hosting the 3A, Area 2 tournament, and SHS and AHS will travel to Headland for the 4A Area, 2 tournament.

 

All area tournaments are double-elimination, with the top two teams advancing to the South Regional tournament in Gulf Shores.

 

Hillcrest-Evergreen and T.R. Miller will begin the 3A, Area 2 tournament at 9:00 a.m., and the Lady Bobcats (20-12-1) will play the winner at 10:30 a.m.

 

The championship game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. with a second game scheduled for 3 p.m., if necessary.

 

Headland will host the 4A, Area 2 tournament and they will square off with AHS (5-20) at 9:30 a.m.

 

Straughn (20-12) and Ashford will play at 9:45 a.m., and the winners from the first two games will play at noon.

 

The losers bracket game will also begin at noon with a second game scheduled for 2 p.m.

 

The championship game is scheduled for 4 p.m. with a second game at 6 p.m., if necessary.
