A celebration of 89 years for Zellie Phillips was held Sat., April 11, at the River Falls Community Center.

Five generations of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grand children were represented.

She had family, who traveled from Michigan, Minnesota, Montgomery, Georgia, Florida and Texas, along with family and friends from the River Falls and Andalusia communities.

She was overjoyed with lots of smiles and tears because she knew nothing about this surprise celebration.

She hadn’t seen some of her grandchildren in two to three years.

Ms. Phillips said she was blessed to live to see five generations of life.
