After allowing a quick base runner in the top of the first, Williams bared down getting out of the inning with a ground out and two strikeouts.

The Tigers broke through quickly in the bottom of the first inning with a three-spot to gain an early advantage over the Panthers.

Jack Dorman got the Tigers started with a one-out single, and Williams followed with rip to left field that was misplayed allowing, Michael Kyser to take third and Williams took second.

Dylan Jordan loaded the bases after drawing a walk, and Jeffery Perdue put the Tigers up 1-0 when he scorched a liner to the Panthers shortstop for a fielder’s choice.

Will Windham then belted a two-run double that plated Williams from third, and Perdue came around to score from first to put the Tigers up 3-0.

The Tigers went up 4-0 in the bottom of the second inning after back-to-back, two-out singles set up Perdue who laced a single into the outfield that scored Kyser from third.

In the top of the third, Williams picked up his fifth strikeout of the game, and continued to keep the Panthers’ batters so off balance they couldn’t get anything going.

Ethan Jordan drew a walk to start the bottom of the third, and moved up to third on a single from Dameyune Scott before scoring on a passed ball to put the Tigers up 5-0.

In the top of the fourth, Williams picked up his sixth strikeout of the game, and still hadn’t allowed the Panthers to get a hit.
