The Straughn Lady Tigers plated six runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat the Andalusia Lady Bulldogs 13-1 Thursday night in Andalusia.

 

Jacie Williamson gave the Lady Tigers an early 1-0 lead with a single that brought Katelyn Kinsaul in to score.

 

SHS added four runs in the top of the third inning to take a 5-0 lead.

 

Williamson brought in the first run of the third with a run scoring single to left field. Molly Stewart scored on the play after reaching base on a walk.

 

Paige Taylor gave the Lady Tigers a 5-0 lead with single that allowed Kristen Peavey and Williamson to come around to score.

 

Taylor scored on an error a few plays later.

 

Colbie Adams scored in the top of the fifth off a sacrifice fly from Dee Gantt to put the Lady Tigers up 7-0.

 

The Lady Tigers blew the game wide open in the top of the seventh with RBIs from Stewart and Taylor, and four runs scored on errors to put the Lady Tigers up 13-0.

 

Merikal McCaskill singled in the bottom of the seventh, and an error by the Lady Tigers’ right fielder allowed Emily Terry to come around to score to cut the lead to 13-1 for the Lady Bulldogs.

 

Both the Lady Tigers and Lady Bulldogs will be in action this weekend in the Lady Bulldogs’ Spring Fling tournament.

 

The Lady Tigers will face Northview at 9 a.m., and the Lady Bulldogs will face Prattville Christian at 9 a.m.
