Former Straughn Tiger Katy Messick was named Pitcher of the Week for her efforts on the mound for the Huntingdon Lady Hawks.

 

Messick started two games for the Lady Hawks this past week, and picked up wins in both contest.

 

Against Covenant, Messick earned a complete-game shutout only allowing seven hits and seven strikeouts.

 

Messick picked up another complete-game win over Piedmont allowing three runs on seven hits and struck out four.

 

It wasn’t just on the mound that Messick found success, at the plate Messick went 3-for-6 with one walk and one stolen base.
