0303 LBWCC College101 AHS 4 webLBW Community College’s upcoming summer term is expanded with additional course offerings at all locations, including night classes for two technical programs.

“In addition to the traditional summer courses at LBW, we are expanding the selections to better address the needs of the community,” said Dean of Instruction Peggy Linton.

“With military veterans and daytime workers in mind, we are excited to offer new evening courses in Opp for programs in diesel mechanics and welding,” she said.

“Our programs are also expanding in Luverne, including the addition of four new classes to the summer schedule and evening classes in criminal justice and psychology.”

Summer is a good time for college classes for a variety of reasons, she added.

“Current students can catch up or get ahead in their program of study, new students can get a head start in their required courses, and those on summer break from a four-year institution can pick up a few extra courses at less cost.”

Also offered are online classes and hybrid classes, which are a combination of online and classroom education, she added.

“For those pursuing a degree in diagnostic medical sonography, summer is the only chance to take the required technical physics course,” she said.

LBWCC’s summer registration begins April 10.  Students can choose to take full-term or mini-term courses, with classes beginning May 20.
