Andalusia’s golf team finished second in a three-team tournament Thursday at LBWCC’s Evans Barnes Golf Course.
The Bulldogs shot a 335 while winner Straughn shot a 330.
The low medalist for the Tigers was Brooks Rabren, who shot a 3-under 69. Andalusia’s Lars Whisonant shot a 77 to be the low man of the Bulldogs.
“We played well considering the conditions because the course was extremely wet,” AHS golf coach Marshall Locke said. “We’re showing signs of improvement. We’ve just got to play better as a team instead of playing with individual shooting.”
Locke added that the team needs to come together.
“Our goal is to get to state and through sectionals to make it to substate, and we have the opportunity to make it to state,” he said. “We have a really good chance.”
Andalusia is 5-3 on the season.
