The countdown is on to the opening of Andalusia’s new Taco Bell restaurant.
Courtney Wright of Tacala LLC’s marketing department said Wednesday the store is scheduled to open on April 2.
“Right now, we’re on track to open that day,” she said. “Hopefully, everything will stay on track with construction.”
Crews were busy working on the finishing touches to the new 2,600-square foot store.
Wright said some 47 jobs have been filled at the new location.
“This isn’t the first time Taco Bell has been in Andalusia,” she said. “We are very excited about joining the Andalusia community. We are currently working with the Chamber of Commerce to plan a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 1, followed by a VIP sneak peek and lunch for the mayor’s office, Chamber and city officials.
Wright said the store will be open from 7 a.m. until 1 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. until 2 a.m., on Friday and Saturday.
“Some restaurants are open 24 hours; others close at midnight, while some close at 2 a.m.,” she said. “That being said, that determination was made based on market size and other factors.”
Tacala LLC is the largest Taco Bell franchisee in the country and also is building a new store in Brewton, projected to open in May.
