Pleasant Home Lady Eagles’ needed only three innings to knock off the Red Level Lady Tigers 16-0 at home Monday night.

 

Taylor McGhee pitched two innings to pick up the win for the Lady Eagles, and only allowed one runner to reach.

 

The Lady Eagles picked up eight runs in the bottom of the first inning to take control of the game early.

 

Cassidy Godwin drove in two runs with an RBI single to put the Lady Eagles up 3-0.

 

Linsey Smithart singled with one out, and plated Camille Holley for a 4-0 lead.

 

Tammi Hilson brought in two more runs with a single to put the Lady Eagles up 6-0.

 

The Lady Eagles got two more runs off an error and passed ball to go up 8-0 heading into the second inning.

 

After retiring the Lady Tigers in the top half, the Lady Eagles picked right up where they left off and added another eight runs in the bottom of the second.

 

The Lady Eagles loaded the bases with two walks, and a single before Smithart was plunked to plate McGhee from third.

 

Hope Gunter then drove in Holley and Jade Self with single to put the Lady Eagles up 11-0.

 

A few batters later and with ducks on the pond, Godwin cleared the bases with a triple. Godwin scored on the play following a throwing error to put the Lady Eagles up 16-0.

 

Tiffany Knoll took over on the mound for the Lady Eagles, and struck out the side to give the Lady Eagles a 16-0 victory.

 

“I saw a lot of positives today,” Lady Eagles’ head coach Jessica Gibson said. “We are learning to execute. I really felt like we came together and played well as a team. Everyone pulled their weight. There are still things we have to work on, but overall, I was proud of the way we played today.”

 

Godwin went 2-for-3 with five RBIs to lead the Lady Eagles.
