Many in Red Level will be saying “top of the afternoon to you” tomorrow as the town’s Beautification Club is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Dinner at the community center.
The club hosts the dinner every year to help raise money for scholarships for Red Level High School seniors who are in the band in honor of Renee Taylor, who was in the school band and passed away several years ago.
Last year, the club sponsored two students at RLHS, and it hopes to do so again this year, Beautification Club officer Melanie Hoffman said.
The dinner, which will be held from noon until 3 p.m. tomorrow, will include a traditional Irish dinner with corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots, Irish soda bread, cornbread, plus a drink and a dessert. All of the food will be homemade.
Additionally, there will be live music from Abigail Turner and Preston Hoffman, along with Christopher Scott.
“All proceeds go to back to the town of Red Level, its kids and people,” Hoffman said.
The Beautification Club was founded in December 1999, and is a non-profit organization that holds fundraisers throughout the year to help make improvements to the town. The club also holds festivals during the holiday season and has annual clean up days for the town.
“We’re the ones who fund it, and put up all of the Red Level flags in town, and the Crystal Springs Park sign,” Hoffman said.
Admission is $12 per person or a family of four can get in for $40.
