The city of Opp approved a resolution Monday night to seek nearly $504,000 for sidewalks at various locations within the city.
If approved, the city would receive money from a Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) grant, through the Alabama Department of Transportation.
The proposed project would place sidewalks on North Main Street, Stewart Street, Maloy Street and on Cameron Road.
The city will be required to provide 20 percent matching funds for the project, and pay design and engineering fees.
The city’s matching portion would $138,666.
