Eddie Dean Carnley
Eddie Dean Carnley, 61, of Argillite, Ky., and formerly of Andalusia, passed away on Wed., Jan. 28, 2015, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital with his family by his side.
Eddie was born on Sept. 23, 1953, in Andalusia, to the late Emma Lou Roberts and Eddie U. Worley.
Mr. Carnley worked for Great Lake Minerals as a laborer for many years. He was also a board member for Little Sandy Fire Dept, and Assistant Scout Master Troop 172-Argillite. He served as a firefighter for the City of Andalusia for 24 years. Eddie enjoyed hobbies such as fishing, camping, flea markets, yard sales, long drives, Boy Scouts, watching westerns but most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 10 years, Claudette Carnley of Argillite, Ky, two daughters, Angie (Mike) Kyles of Andalusia, and Maria Carnley of Georgia; two sons, Eric (Alyshia) Carnley of Andalusia, and Eddie (Tina) Carnley of Florida; a stepson, Foster Gipson of Argillite, Ky.; two brothers, Marvin Carnley of Andalusia, and Cecil (Carol) Carnley of New Mexico; a sister, Peggy Parks of Andalusia; nine grandchildren, Kylie, Jared (Skunk), Annabelle, Nick, Austin, Tyler, Ricky, Robert, and Toril and a host of friends and extended family that will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Joe Carnley, Albert Carnley Jr., Jeff Carnley, Ordean Worley and Ordrey Worley; and three sisters, Irene Wise, Olene Smith, and Opal Veasey.
A funeral service will be held at Carman Funeral Home-Flatwoods today, Sat., Jan. 31, 2015, at 1 p.m. with words of comfort by J.D. Thompson. Visitation for family and friends will be two hours prior to service time at the funeral home.
A local memorial service will be held for family and friends to pay respects at a later date.
Hazel Ruth (Hall) Bozeman
Hazel Ruth (Hall) Bozeman was born in Andalusia on July 22, 1938, and returned to her heavenly home at the age of 76 after a long illness. The love of her family and her faith in Jesus gave her the courage to run the race that was set before her, and with God’s grace she completed her race on Jan. 28, 2015.
She is survived by her sister Mildred Hall Phillips (Joe); her son, Johnny; her daughter, Katherine McJunkins (Allen); her grandchildren, Jessie, James, and Colton Ward, Grey, and Katelin McJunkins, and Camille McJunkins Williams (J D); great-grandchildren, Tyler and Tara-Renee Ward and Hunter Ward, along with seven nephews, a niece, 18 great-nieces and nephews.
She has donated her body to the University of South Alabama in Mobile. The family will be celebrating her life during a memorial service at Rehobeth Baptist Church, today, Sat., Jan. 31, 2015, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers make donations to a charity of your choice.
OLIVIA GANTT GIDDENS
Mrs. Olivia Gantt Giddens, 90, of Andalusia, passed away Thurs., Jan. 29, 2015, in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today, Sat., Jan. 31, 2015, from Foreman Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Lee officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Cemetery. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service, at Foreman Funeral Home.
Survivors include her son, Wade Giddens of Troy, and numerous relatives.
Mrs. Giddens is preceded in death by her husband, Pat Giddens; brother Raymond Gantt, and her sister Marie Young.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of choice.
