Both teams came out shooting well in the opening period, but it was the Bulldogs who led 22-14 after one. Javarius Grooms had 5 points for the Tigers in the first. The Bulldogs’ Darian Jones had 13 points, and was 4-for-10 from the charity stripe in the first period alone.

In the third period, the Bulldogs defense stepped up and held the Tigers to only 6 points. Onteryo Nearer had 4 of the Tigers’ third period points. Kasain Nichlos had 8 points for the Bulldogs, including a pair of 3-pointers. The Bulldogs led 55-28 heading into the final period of play.

Jones led the Bulldogs with 18 points, and Nichlos had 11 points.
The Tigers were led in scoring by Dexter with 11 points, and Nearor finished with 7 points.
“We have to get in the correct defensive position to cut out fouls,” Tigers’ head coach Allen Catrett said. “ We don’t have the depth to get into foul trouble. We have to get bodies on guys to control the boards, and we have to make shots. We didn’t do those things tonight and it showed.”
