The Pleasant Home Eagles’ B-team fought hard, but fell to the Excel Panthers 37-27 last night in Pleasant Home.
It was a close game throughout the entire game, and after one period of the play the Eagles trailed 10-8. Jordan Hardy had two big baskets in the period to keep the Eagles close.
The Panthers extended their lead by one going into halftime, 16-13. Nicolas Woods popped a 3-pointer, and also dropped in a layup, for the Eagles, in the second.
The Eagles scrapped their back in the third, and had the game tied, at 21-21 with just a few seconds left in the third. A foul sent the Panthers to the line, and hit one-of-two free throws to take a 22-21 lead into the fourth.
In the fourth, the Panthers offense came out explosive. The Panthers put up 15 points in the fourth period alone to defeat the Eagles 37-27.
Woods led the Eagles with 11 points, and Robert Scott added 5 points.
“My guys are trying to learn to play smart, and they didn’t play smart tonight,” Eagles head coach Troy Turman said. “They played hard, but they have to learn to play their roles better.”
