RLHS, Zion Chapel split games in roundball action

The Red Level Tigers and the Zion Chapel Rebels split varsity basketball games Tuesday night in Red Level.
The Lady Tigers got a hot start in the first, and jumped out to a 14-4 lead after one period.
In the second period, the Lady Tigers continued their sizzling start putting up 15 more points in the period. Defensively, the Lady Tigers fought hard to keep the Lady Rebels in check. At the end of the first half, the Lady Tigers led 29-11.
The third period was much of the same for the Lady Tigers. The Tigers’ Shelby Holley was having the game of a lifetime, as seemingly ever shot she shot went in. The third period came to a close with the Lady Tigers up 42-13.
The Lady Tigers used the fourth period to nail the door close on any thoughts the Lady Rebels might have had on a comeback. The Lady Tigers coasted through the fourth for a 48-15 victory.
Holley led the Lady Tigers with 32 points on the night. Kayla Hinson added 10 points for the Lady Tigers.
In the boys’ varsity action, the Tigers and Rebels started off sluggish. At the end of the first the Tigers trailed 8-5. The Rebels stretched the lead a bit at halftime, with a 20-15 lead.
The Tigers came out with very aggressive in the third, and fought back to a 27-29 deficit at the end of three periods.
It was the Rebels who came out with the hot hand in the fourth, and try as they may the Tigers couldn’t keep the Rebels from hitting contested shots. The Rebels held on for a 52-42 victory.
