The Red Level Lady Tigers outlasted the Pleasant Home Lady Eagles 17-15 in the first round of the Covington County junior varsity tournament in Straughn.
The Lady Eagles started off with a 3-1 lead after the first period of play.
At half time the Lady Tigers had clawed their way back to a 7-7 score. Jayla Poindexter had a steal that she converted into a fast-break score for the Lady Tigers.

Feagin added four more point in the final period, including a clutch shot with under a minute left to stretch the Lady Tigers’ lead to three points.
“We played well, and I’m proud of them,” Lady Eagles’ head coach Jerry Davis said. “The tall girl (Feagin) is tough to deal with.”
Worley led the Lady Eagles with 6 points and Hope Gunter added 3 points.
“I’m proud of the win, but we saw some things that we have to work,” Lady Tigers’ head coach Allen Catrett said. ” It was a good effort tonight and I’m proud to come out with a win against a good team.”
Feagin led the way for the Lady Tigers with 12 points. Poindexter added 5 points for the Lady Tigers.
The Red Level Lady Tigers will play the Straughn Lady Tigers on Wednesday at 3:30 in Straughn for round two of the tournament.
