The deadline to enter the annual Red Level Community Christmas celebration is fast approaching.

The celebration is scheduled for 6 p.m., Dec. 3, at the Guy Mason Auditorium and is free to the public. However, donations of canned food items for the local food bank are encouraged.

“It is always a great family event,” event coordinator Tori Adams said. “Churches and community groups unite on the first Wednesday evening of December to celebrate the season together. Additionally, our band performs their Christmas concert at the event.”

The Red Level High School band, the Touch of Class, will perform a Christmas concert with traditional Christmas music.

“Local churches usually bring their choirs or have someone sing a solo,” Adams said. “Community members sing or perform musical pieces- it varies from year to year.

“Basically, it is an opportunity for the school and community to come together and celebrate the Christmas season,” she said.

Additionally, Adams said that Santa will make an appearance at the end of the performance to visit and hand out candy to the children.
