The Andalusia Bulldogs’ varsity boys defeated the Pleasant Home Eagles 45-20 last night in Pleasant Home.
The Bulldogs got off to a slow start, but turned it up a notch in the second and third periods to pull away from the Eagles. The speed of the Bulldogs was too much for the Eagles to handle.
At the end of the first, the Bulldogs led the Eagles 11-6. By the half, the Bulldogs had increased their lead to 24-7.
When the third period completed the Bulldogs were up 41-14.
Leading the scoring for the Bulldogs was Trevor Parker with 12 points. Alexander Sheridan added 8 points for the Bulldogs, and B.J. Anderson accounted for 7 points.
“It wasn’t pretty, but it was a win,” Bulldogs’ head coach Richard Robertson said, “We still are not were we need to be. I have seven, of the 12 guys, that are football players that still have football in them.”
Troy Fantroy led the Eagles with 7 points.
“We didn’t play like we wanted to,” Eagles’ head coach Troy Turman said. “We didn’t handle Andalusia’s physicality on the perimeter, and we had to many turnovers that caused us to lose offensive possessions. Our guys kept fighting, and we will learn from the experience and improve.”
