The Straughn Lady Tigers basketball team returns all starters from last year’s Final Four team.
“We don’t really have one or two key players,” said Straughn head coach Scott Kinsaul. “We depend on everybody.”
The Lady Tigers will have five seniors and seven juniors on this seasons roster. Kinsaul said he believes with hard work and effort that these girls can make it back to Birmingham and maybe win a few more games than last year.
“We need all of them to play the best that they can play,” said Kinsaul. “We need depth, so we are going to rely on all of them not just one or two.”
The Lady Tigers will rely on returning players to for their experience.
“We return all five starters, but we lost Katie Lindsey, who was a valuable part of last year’s team,” said Kinsaul.
Kinsaul said it would take a complete team effort to get back to Birmingham, and bring home a ring.
“These girls have had a lot of success in volleyball, softball, and basketball and that’s something we are going to try and continue on and build on,” said Kinsaul. “I hope that they realize that, for the seniors, this is their last chance to get a ring.”
The Lady Tigers will begin the season on Nov. 13, in Flomaton, where they will face the Lady Hurricanes.
