The Andalusia Tinymites and Termites are looking to bring home the Tri-County Super Bowl championship this Saturday at Channell-Lee Stadium in Opp.
The Tinymites will play Greenville and the Termites will play Evergreen. Both Andalusia coaches expect their teams to be fired up for the chance to play in the Super Bowl.
“This is going to be a hard-fought battle, but our preparation and game play have not changed,” said Termite head coach Andy Faircloth. “We are going out to play Bulldog football and bring that championship trophy back to its rightful home here in Andalusia.”
Tinymite head coach Michael Jackson said that his team had the best week of practice yet and that the kids were more excited about practicing for Greenville then they are about going to the Fall Festival. Jackson expects another defensive battle just like the last two against them have been.
“We faced them in the preseason bowl and it ended in a 0-0 tie, and we played them the third game of the season and we won in the last minute, of the game 7-0,” Jackson said. “We will be a more improved team than we were in week three.”
In other Super Bowl action, Straughn will face Evergreen in the peewee age group.
At Pleasant Home, the second round of the playoffs are taking place.
Kinston plays Florala, and Georgiana plays Red Level in tinymites; Florala plays Georgiana, and McKenzie plays Red Level in termites; and Pleasant Home plays Georgiana, and Kinston plays Florala in peewees.
Games start at 9:30 a.m. at PHS.
