AMS Bulldogs to face tough Trojans tonight

Andalusia Middle School head football coach Tommy Wright said tonight’s home game against Charles Henderson will be a good test for the Bulldogs.
“They’re big, they’re athletic and I haven’t seen so many athletes on a middle school team,” Wright said. “But, they only play 11 at a time. We’re looking forward to it.”
Wright added that a big problem for the boys tonight is the fact that they didn’t play last week because of the wet field conditions.
“I’m just anxious to see how the kids perform with a week off like that,” he said.
Andalusia has only play one game for its regular season, a 30-0 victory over rival Opp on Aug. 28.
The Bulldogs are currently riding a win streak that dates back to the 2012 season.
With such an athletic team CHMS presents, Wright said he’s keeping his eye out on Keshun Campbell and JaVontrez Allen, among others.
“They are tremendous athletes,” he said.
The main key for tonight’s game is “ball control.”
“I feel like they’re going to throw it on us,” Wright said. “I’m concerned about our secondary. If our secondary plays well and we control the ball, we’ll be alright.”
Wright added that it’s crucial that the Bulldogs not give up the big plays.
As far as the game being a test, Wright said that it will help show what sort of progress the Bulldogs have made.
“This will show where we are as far as this point of the season, how we handle the pressure of a big team coming in here,” he said.
Kick off tonight is at 5:30 at Andalusia High School.
