Red Level fell 49-13 to Highland Home in its jamboree game Friday night.
The Tigers varsity allowed two of three Squadron touchdowns on offense to trail 21-7 at halftime. In the second half, the junior varsity bunch was outscored 28-6.
“If we had cut down on some of that stuff, we’d play even at the half,” RLS head football coach David Godwin said. “It was just the first ball game jitters.”
Godwin said there were a lot of opportunities left out on the field.
“We’re eager to get to a game that counts,” he said.
The Tigers visit J.U. Blacksher next week to start their season.
“I felt like the kids battled and they had good effort,” Godwin said. “There were mistakes made, but they are correctable.”
