LIZZIE RODGERS SMITH

Mrs. Lizzie Rodgers Smith, 83, of Andalusia passed away Thurs., Aug. 7, 2014 at Luverne Health and Rehab.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sun., Aug. 10, 2014 at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ed Ganus will officiate.

Interment will follow at Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to services at Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include: son, Joel (Pat) Rodgers of Huntsville; daughters, Girtie Vanhovlen of Arkansas, Libby (Doug) Lee of Dozier, Joyce Bracewell of Heath and Alvie “Red” (Hubert) Hutto of Andalusia; 21 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Smith.

JOHN HILLIARD HELMS

Mr. John Hilliard Helms, 57, of Andalusia, died Fri., Aug. 8, 2014, at Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sun., Aug. 10, 2014, at Zion Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Prittchett and the Rev. Roger Lee officiating. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Helms is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Linnie O. and Sue Ann Helms, Jr. of Andalusia; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lyndia G. and Glenn Cottle, Dianne and Michael Blocker, both of Andalusia; the late Rosy L. Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

BILLY JONES TAYLOR

Mr. Billy Jones Taylor, 75, of East Brewton, passed away on Mon., Aug. 4, 2014 in a Pensacola hospital.

He was a native of Paul and long-time resident of East Brewton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius W. Taylor and Ouida Jones Taylor; brother, Julius Michael Taylor; wife, Lillie Faye Smith; and wife, Patricia Gail Pertree Taylor.

He is survived by his children, Trent (Patty) Taylor of Andalusia, Twyla (Jeff) Kelley of Jay, Fla. and Trey Taylor of East Brewton; grandchildren, Ryne, Tiffany and Paige Taylor of Andalusia, and Taylor, Reid and Landon Kelley of Jay.

A memorial service will be held today, Sat., Aug. 9, at 10 a..m. at New Providence Church in Paul.

MARY WILDER GUIN

Mrs. Mary Wilder Guin, 93, of Andalusia, died Wed., Aug. 6, 2014, at Andalusia Manor.

Graveside services will be at noon on Mon., Aug. 11, at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Aaron officiating. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Foreman Funeral Home.

Mrs. Guin is survived by a sister, Bonice Smith of Andalusia, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Guin.
