Jeffery Mullins will make sure that Andalusia Country Club functions at a high level.
Hired in March, Mullins is the new country club general manager. He comes to Andalusia from Greenville, where he owned the last franchisee of Hooks barbecue restaurant.
Since he was 15 years old, Mullins has been working predominantly in the restaurant business.
“All I’ve done is the restaurant business,” he said. “I’ve worked every job position in the restaurant business.”
In his early 20s, Mullins played golf pretty often and tried to do so in his down time, which he said was hard to find.
Mullins said his responsibilities at the country club include making sure all aspects of the club functions at a high standard; maintaining the staff; making sure the club team executes at a high level; provide excellent food, excellent golf and plenty of wonderful down time on the golf course.
What appealed Mullins to Andalusia was its schools and low cost of living. He has a 5-year-old daughter, Marley, who will be starting kindergarten in the fall; and a 3-year-old son, Mason.
“Overall, the town is very friendly,” he said. “I chose to leave a job I had just started and honestly was paying more to come here. I felt good about the town of Andalusia.”
Mullins also has a wife, Amber.
